Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred

Ok so this is the breakdown of the video and my youtube channel has me showing you short clips of how to actually do the move (or at least how I do the move!)  Overall the workout is 20 minutes long with a 5 minutes warm up and 5 minute cool down totaling 30 minutes.  It is the best 30 minutes of your life though!  The video starts out with an approximate 4-5 minutes warm up, then a 3 minute strength move, a 2 minute cardio move, and a 1 minute ab move.  These cycles repeat 3 times.  All you will need is a yoga mat and some hand weights.  I use 3 pound hand weights.

WARM UP:
40 seconds - Arm crosses, 40 seconds - windmills, 40 seconds - jumping jax, 40 seconds - hip circles, 40 seconds - knee circles, 40 seconds - jumping jax

STRENGTH: (3 mins)
45 seconds - push-ups (girl version on knee is allowed here!), 45 seconds - squat and press
REPEAT.

CARDIO: (2 mins)
30 seconds - jumping jax, 30 seconds - jumping rope
REPEAT.

ABS: (1 min)
30 seconds - basic crunch, 30 seconds - reverse crunch

STRENGTH: (3 mins)
45 seconds - dumbbell row, 45 seconds - static lunge with a bicep curl
REPEAT.

CARDIO: (2 mins)
30 seconds - butt kicks, 30 seconds - boxing
REPEAT.

ABS: (1 min)
30 seconds - left side crunch, 30 seconds - right side crunch

STRENGTH: (3 mins)
45 seconds - chest fly, 45 seconds - anterior raise with a side lunge
REPEAT.

CARDIO: (2 mins)
30 seconds - jumping jax, 30 seconds - butt kicks, 30 seconds - boxing, 30 seconds - jumping rope

ABS: (1 min)
60 seconds - bicycle crunches

COOL DOWN:
Static stretches - sitting and touching the toes or as far as you can reach over to one side, then the middle, then the other side.  Stretch the arms, bring one across the body and stretch the shoulder, do the other side.  Stand up and stretch the quads.

Garlic Butter Chicken with Avocado and Tomato Salad

So if you watch my YouTube you will know that I posted a cooking video last night.  I am on a new diet/workout routine.  You may think that "diet" means restricting food intake and the yo-yo fad gimmicks but "diet" to me just means the food I eat.  I wanted to change the food I eat by maybe cutting back on sweets and fats and boosting proteins and veggies.  Basically I just wanted to eat healthier than I was eating before.  I have started tracking my weight, workouts, and diet on YouTube and I will sprinkle those videos throughout my makeup stuff.  I will also be tracking these things on here for you too!  The main reason for this post though was to give you guys the recipe for the chicken dinner I made last night.
You will need:
 FOR CHICKEN

2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
 DRY MIXTURE:
1/2 cup Italian breadcrumbs
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
Parsley flakes
Oregano flakes
salt and pepper to taste
MOIST MIXTURE
1/2 cup melted butter
2 tbs minced garlic

Combine minced butter and a 1/2 cup softened butter in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high until butter is completely melted.
Mix all ingredients for the Dry Mixture together in another bowl.
Take chicken breast and dip in butter garlic mixture then dip into dry mixture and place in a tin foiled lined baking dish/baking dish sprayed with Pam.

Bake at 375 degrees F for about 25-30 minutes (sometimes quicker depending on size of chicken breast).

You will need:
FOR SALAD

two small-medium avocados
two medium-large tomatoes
extra-virgin olive oil
balsamic vinegar
salt and pepper to taste
fresh lemon juice

Cube avocado into bite size chunks and add to a salad bowl.
Cube tomatoes into bite size chunks and add to salad bowl.
Dress with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Juice 1 lemon for fresh lemon juice and drizzle over salad.
Add salt and pepper to taste.

ENJOY!

I love my Luxy Extensions!

I truly love my luxy hair extensions.  I got them about a week ago and I have pretty much worn them just about every day.  I have been wearing them curled mostly, just because my short layers are more hidden when the extensions are curled but whether they are pin straight or curled they are fabulous.  I will be posting a video on YouTube doing a tutorial on how I put them in and also how I curl them.  I also purchased a new curling iron because mine shot the crapper so I just got the curling iron that one of the Luxy sisters (youtube hair guru) was using in one of her hair tutorial videos.  I got the Enzo Milano 1" clipless curling iron and that is another one of my favorites right now.  So stay tuned for a video tutorial!!

I think that the Transformers Movies are fantastic so when my boyfriend (who works out at the space center) told me they were filming there I flipped out and got really excited.  He sent me a few pictures he took of the Autobots!  I guess the Decepticons are using the VAB (Vehicle Assembly Building) out there at the space center as a base or something.  Patrick told me they will be filming all week.  Shia LaBeouf was there yesterday!  A guy in Patrick's group got to be an extra in the film so I asked if maybe I could get an autograph or something lol!  Enjoy the pictures!

Lose 40 lbs in a month?!

Ok so my mom is the cutest thing ever...she just called me and told me all about this diet that a bunch of her friends from work have been on and they have all lost a ton of weight apparently.

She told me the kinds of food you have to eat and all this stuff.  She has been on it for 2 days so far but I guess is really excited to see if it works and wants me to do it with her.  Now before I go on, I do not need to lose weight but I would like to tone up haha (wouldn't we all) but I will do this with my mom to support her if only for a little bit.

Ok so here is what it is I guess...I am going off what my mom told me briefly over the phone.  I will post the entire diet when she emails it to me later. Ok...I guess you only diet for 3 days out of the week and in those 3 days you are only allowed to have what is outlined in the diet plan.  The other 4 days of the week I guess you can have whatever you would like "within reason".  Now, "within reason" probably does not entail a bowl of ice cream or something like that but you get the idea.  You are supposed to lose a TON of weight on this, do I believe that though...HELL NO haha, I am very "health" conscious and I know that the healthy amount of weight to lose is about 1-2 lbs per week.  This diet on the other hand is supposed to have you losing 10 lbs per week or per 3 days of dieting (since you only diet for 3 days out of the week) and that brings us to 40 lbs a month (if you diet all the weeks in the month).  Now I can assume that this is a gimmick OR and this is a big OR...the people that tested this diet were extremely and I MEAN EXTREMELY overweight and the first few months pounds melted off, as it should because for severely obese individuals the first 20-30 even 40 lbs do melt away rather quickly.  For a normal healthy individual with a body mass index or BMI that might not be the case.  In any event my mom was excited so I will try it with her.  It's worth a shot.  I am starting next Monday since the diet says that it is easier to do on a Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.  If you would like to do the diet along with me then stay tuned!  It shall be posted either later tonight or tomorrow!

HELLO

Hey everyone,
Just posting a blog real quick because I have SOOOOO much to do as in school work, lab work, yada yada yada.  You know the deal.  I had some brainstorming last night while I was sleeping and I actually had a pretty cool dream about YouTube video ideas.  Wanna hear?!
Okay, so my first idea is only relevant if you have ever seen "How I Met Your Mother" on CBS.  It is a pretty funny show about friends that are going through life as usual but they have a  lot of quirks and one of the characters (who was the band camp girl from American Pie and her name is totally escaping me right now) but yea she and her husband on the show made up this term "Dopplegangers" which are random people who look like their friends.  So, hmmm, how do I explain this?  Have you ever come across someone who looks exactly like someone you know?  Then they would be a Doppleganger! Get it?  So it is just random people that look like their close friends and they even found Dopplegangers for themselves.  So in all, there are 5 main characters so that means there are 5 Dopplegangers.  Anyway Lily, the character that made all this up, didn't want to have kids until they found all the Dopplegangers.  Hehehe, its a funny show, so anyway your probably thinking how does this make sense at this point? WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY WOMAN!!! Okay, okay, so my idea was to find Dopplegangers for all the major YouTube beauty gurus I watch!! How cool is that!!! I believe I have already found YaYaLifeStyle Doppleganger at my school.  If and when I see her again I will ask if I can take her picture! Hehehe!  Anyway, I thought it was a good idea!

Other ideas I have are just FOTD and OOTD on school days.  It will force me to wake up early and shoot a video :)  What else, oh yea, I am also going to start a work out series where I track my weight so you guys can follow me, do workouts, make healthy food, and all that fun stuff.  I think I will start that Monday? Maybe?  I will track my progress here and on YouTube so follow and try and do it with me!
Ok gang, talk to you all later!  Have a wonderful night...or day depending on where in our world you are :)

What's In My Bag and Organizational Tips

Hello lovies,
I got my school bag in the mail the other day and so I used it for school today (first day of testing it out) and I absolutely love it!  It is such a better bag than the one I was using from Target.  The straps on this bag are so nice and squishy and thick, they didn't hurt my shoulders at all and I have a pretty heavy bag.  There are so many compartments and places to store things all over!  I really like the design and the color and just the overall feel of this bag.  It just seems like a really durable, good quality bag!  So on to what's in it :)  I carry my laptop in there which is what I take most if not all of my notes, I carry two Paul Frank folders - one for my paper work from the classes I TA for and the other I carry loose leaf note paper (just in case I need paper because I don't carry a notebook to school with me), I also have the essentials like my pencil case, calculator, wallet, umbrella (it rains a lot in FL), sweater, headphones, mints, etc...  Sometimes I will bring a lunch to school and then I will put my lunch box with ice pack in my bad too.

As for organizational type tips...I like to make tons and TONS of flash cards.  I find myself to be a visual and auditory learning so when I am reading I read aloud (sounds kind of weird I know but that's how I do it).  I also take notes on my laptop in class but then when I come home I rewrite them into a designated notebook (which I leave at home), and I highlight all the important information that shows up both in the lecture/slides and in the book.  I make flash cards based on the information I have highlighted!  I am also studying to take the GRE (Graduate Record Exam - to get into Grad school) and I have made flash cards for vocab words as well.  Hmmm what else...oh yea, I like to color code everything in my planner so for instance blue=lab stuff, baby pink=TA stuff, hot pink=personal stuff, green=work at restaurant stuff, purple=class schedule, highlighted yellow=important deadlines/papers/assignments/proctoring exams.  I have filled in the months of September, October, November, and December already so that I know how to allocate my time accordingly.  One thing that has worked wonders for me (and I know this will be easier said than done) but MANAGE YOUR TIME!! I am a huge procrastinator but one thing you will start to realize (as I have) is that as your classes get harder or you have just a boat load of stuff going on, you need to manage your time and plan EVERYTHING out.  One of the reasons I have the little "check mark" boxes next to my assignments and things I need to do is so that I can get the satisfaction of actually checking something off my list of stuff I HAVE TO GET DONE :)  This is the first year/semester that I have done this (and I actually got this little tidbit of information from another youtuber) and it has been working wonders for me!

Ok here are some pictures :) ENJOY

Pretty New Nail Polish

So after school I went to target to get a new lighted mirror (which sucks by the way and I'm taking it back) and I happened to pass by the nail polish section and I saw this really pretty pastel purple.  I also found my all time favorite top coat, which I haven't been using in a while, maybe because I lost it or ran out (I don't know) but I picked up that as well.
